In the presence of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, 22 newly appointed judges took the oath.
Three of them are judges of local general courts, two of local commercial courts, five of appellate courts, eight of appellate commercial courts, and four of appellate administrative courts.
The oath was taken by judges from different regions of Ukraine: three each from the Kyiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions; two each from the Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Lviv, and Rivne regions; and one each from the Donetsk, Zakarpattia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, and Poltava regions.
The Head of State congratulated the judges on taking office and emphasized that their work must be professional, impartial, fair, and timely.
"People notice justice not years later, not sometime later, but at the moment when the feeling that justice is needed is most acute. Please do not miss this important moment - when justice is needed, when the law must show itself, show itself wisely, with respect for people, with respect for life," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
Taking the oath is one of the mandatory elements for acquiring judicial powers. A judge may administer justice only after taking the oath, being enrolled in the court staff, and completing initial training.
