The Simi Valley Council On Aging (COA) is seeking seniors who are interested in serving on the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging (VCAAA) Advisory Council to represent the concerns of seniors countywide. All interested persons must be 60 years of age or older and reside within the City of Simi Valley.
The VCAAA Advisory Council is a public agency that advocates for persons aged 60 and over. Its mission is to involve the community in creating and sustaining programs that impact senior living and family caregivers. Advisory Council members meet six times a year in Camarillo to plan and coordinate senior programs countywide and decide where and how to allocate funds.
The COA will review applications and recommend one candidate to the City Council for appointment to a two-year term beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2028. Individuals interested in serving must submit an online application by Friday, May 8, 2026. The COA will consider applicants and make its recommendation during a public meeting on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Simi Valley Senior Center, 3900 Avenida Simi.
