DURANGO, CO - The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Durango Chamber of Commerce recently hosted U.S. Representative Jeff Hurd (R-CO-03) for a roundtable discussion in Durango, Colorado with local business leaders on the pro-growth business tax provisions in President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was signed into law on July 4th. This forward-looking, pro-growth policy is vital to maintaining America's prosperity and competitive edge and will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.
We applaud Congressman Hurd for working to ensure that the constituents of the 3rd District of Colorado continue to benefit from long-term tax relief, fostering growth for workers and businesses across his district and beyond.
"As a former small business owner, Congressman Hurd understands the importance of advancing pro-growth tax policies," said Monique Thierry, Vice President of the Southwest/South Central Region at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. "He remains committed to the people of Colorado's 3rd congressional district-the largest in the state. The U.S. Chamber is grateful for his work in passing the Working Families Tax Cuts and unleashing economic growth."
"Chambers of Commerce are on the front lines of economic growth in Colorado's Third District," said Congressman Hurd. "In rural communities especially, they bring together the small businesses and job creators who keep our local economies moving. I appreciated the chance to meet with the Durango Chamber and hear directly what is holding businesses back. Too often, it is not a lack of effort or innovation, it is burdensome regulation, uncertainty, and policies coming out of Washington that miss the realities on the ground. Those conversations matter. They should drive how we approach federal policy. I will keep working with the Durango Chamber and chambers across the district to cut red tape, support small businesses, and make sure rural Colorado has the certainty and opportunity it needs to grow and compete."
"We are grateful to partner with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to bring national advocacy directly to our local business community," said Jeff Dupont, CEO of the Durango Chamber of Commerce. "This roundtable reflected exactly what our business community needs-direct, thoughtful engagement with policymakers who are willing to listen. Congressman Hurd took the time to understand the real challenges facing our small businesses and demonstrated a genuine commitment to advancing practical solutions."
The U.S. Chamber's tax roundtables are a part of its Growing America's Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. To date, the Chamber has hosted over 90 tax roundtables, and these events will continue over the coming months in communities across the country.
