WONDERFUL PISTACHIOS HONORED WITH INAUGURAL VISTAR “IMPACT & PURPOSE AWARD”

Wonderful® Pistachios has been named the inaugural recipient of Vistar's "Impact & Purpose Award." Presented during the distributor's annual Supplier Awards Gala on August 25, 2026, the award recognizes a supplier partner that demonstrates exceptional leadership beyond business performance through meaningful, measurable philanthropy, community investment, environmental stewardship, and purpose-driven initiatives that improve lives.

The Impact & Purpose Award expands Vistar's long-standing Supplier Awards program, which honors supplier partners for excellence in innovation, collaboration, sales growth, and customer service. Since its inception, Vistar's Supplier Awards have celebrated companies that help drive the organization's success while setting high standards across the wholesale distribution industry.

Wonderful Pistachios, part of The Wonderful Company, co-founded and co-run by Lynda and Stewart Resnick, was selected for the award in recognition of its long-standing and expansive commitment to giving back to the communities where it operates. This commitment is rooted in the Resnicks' vision to build a better and healthier world, starting with where their employees live and work. To date, the Resnicks, along with their foundations and The Wonderful Company, have committed more than $2.5 billion in lifetime giving globally.

"This recognition is very special because it reflects our shared purpose of building stronger communities that can endure for generations, and we are grateful to Vistar for the recognition," said Michael Celani, senior vice president of sales for Wonderful Pistachios, at the award ceremony. "The Wonderful Company and its brands are guided by a deeply rooted belief that business success and giving back must go hand in hand. We invest, first and foremost, where our employees and their families call home, working alongside communities to create lasting opportunities in education, health and wellness, sustainability, and community development. We hope we can be a model for others and that Vistar's recognition can help drive even greater investment in communities to create meaningful change."

In California's Central Valley, where more than 3,000 employees live and work, the Resnicks, along with their foundations and The Wonderful Company, have invested more than $850 million to date, supporting initiatives in health and wellness, education, infrastructure, affordable housing, and more.

This commitment is especially visible in Lost Hills, California, home to Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds. Investments include the founding and ongoing support of Wonderful College Prep Academy, a network of tuition free public charter schools; the revitalization of a local park; and on-site health and wellness clinics that provide free health coaching, prescription medicines, therapy, and more for employees, students, and their families. The community has also benefited from an illuminated pedestrian bridge and infrastructure improvements, including new roads, streetlights, and sidewalks - all designed to help families thrive for generations.

Earlier this year, Lynda and Stewart Resnick announced one of the most significant philanthropic gifts in UCLA Health's history : a landmark $100 million commitment to advance mental health care across Los Angeles. The transformational gift, made possible through their foundation, will fund the expansion of UCLA Health's mental and behavioral health services, support the completion of a new comprehensive mental health campus, and expand inpatient capacity.

Their purpose-driven investments extend beyond education and community development to advancing environmental sustainability and agricultural innovation. Highlights include a historic $750 million pledge to Caltech directed toward environmental science and climate change education, and a $50 million gift to open the Resnick Center for Agricultural Innovation at UC Davis.

Receiving Vistar's inaugural Impact & Purpose Award underscores Wonderful Pistachios' belief that corporate success carries a responsibility to create lasting positive change. Through investments in education, health, sustainability, and community well-being, the company continues to demonstrate that purpose and business performance can advance together to create stronger communities while inspiring the next generation of leaders.
