The Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) is seeking Coloradans with knowledge of the hemp industry to fill several vacancies on the Hemp Advisory Committee (HAC) and provide essential input to the Department on the regulation of the state's hemp industry.
The HAC will be filling positions that expire on July 31, 2026, and is actively seeking applicants now. Stakeholders are needed to represent the hemp industry on the HAC during this period of significant change.
"The hemp industry is facing sweeping changes in federal legislation, and federal changes to the Definition of Hemp are already underway," said Brian Koontz, Hemp Program Manager. "It is more critical than ever to have knowledgeable stakeholders representing the industry on the HAC to help guide the future of our state's hemp program."
Members of the committee serve three-year terms and help advise CDA on matters regarding hemp regulation, including offering advice and consultation on an inspection program to determine THC concentration levels.

Coloradans who fit the categories for each committee can apply or submit nominations online at any time, using CDA's digital application form, which can be found on the CDA website. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2026.
