Nighttime repaving begins on Monday at Blue Lakes Boulevard and Kimberly Road

TWIN FALLS -The Idaho Transportation Department will begin nighttime repaving at the intersection of Blue Lakes Boulevard and Kimberly Road on Monday, Aug. 31. Tonight, there will be utility preparation, including lowering manholes. This work will include intermittent traffic control.

Starting Monday, crews will work from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. at the five-point intersection of Blue Lakes Boulevard and Kimberly Road, flagging traffic one lane in each direction. Work is expected to take about one month to complete. The intersection will remain open during the day.

Milling will begin on 2nd Avenue, moving from west to east. Crews will then mill Blue Lakes Boulevard, followed by Kimberly Road.

In October, crews will also make upgrades to the traffic signal at the intersection. Improvements will include new signal cabinets, pedestrian signal heads, a new vehicle detection system, ADA ramps and other intersection improvements.

Repaving work on Kimberly Road has been underway since June and is expected to be completed in November.

Drivers should expect nighttime delays and are encouraged to follow posted signs and use caution when traveling through the work zone. For current traffic impacts and updates, visit 511 Idaho.
