Eastern U.S. conference co-hosted by Campbell pharmacy students

February 3, 2026

The Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences will play a leading role as the University's chapter of the Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA) co-hosts the 2026 SNPhA Regions I and II Conference, along with the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, on March 13-14, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The conference will bring together pharmacy students, faculty, alumni, and practitioners from 52 SNPhA chapters across the Eastern United States, spanning the Northeast and Southeast regions.

Campbell University was selected as a co-host due to the passion and leadership of its students, who are deeply committed to service, professional growth, and advancing the pharmacy profession. The University's faculty expertise, from teaching in the classroom to practicing in hospitals, clinics, and community facilities where students complete rotations, provides an unparalleled learning environment. Faculty members are also actively engaged in research, publications, and national presentations, further enhancing Campbell's reputation for excellence in pharmacy education.

The conference will center on the theme "The Capsule Unlocked: Empowering Tomorrow's Pharmacy," highlighting collaboration, inclusion, and innovation in pharmacy education and practice. The state of North Carolina provides the perfect place to host a conference centered on this theme given the strong ties to healthcare innovation, community engagement and academic excellence. Much like the state itself, which bridges the mountains to the coast, the conference is designed to connect students and professionals across both regions to share knowledge, develop leadership skills, and inspire meaningful change in the communities they serve.

Campbell faculty and alumni will be featured presenters throughout the conference, giving students direct access to mentors who exemplify service-driven leadership, clinical expertise, and professional excellence.

Current Campbell Pharmacy students serving as co-chairs for the conference say hosting the event is both an honor and a responsibility. "Bringing the SNPhA regional conference to North Carolina allows us to showcase Campbell's commitment to service, leadership, and collaboration," said Alexander Valdez Alba ('27 PharmD/MSPH candidate). Taylor Jones ('27 PharmD candidate) continued, "We are excited to welcome students from across the Northeast and Southeast, create meaningful learning experiences, and work together to break barriers that impact our profession and the patients we serve."

The conference will feature professional development sessions, leadership workshops, community health initiatives, and networking opportunities designed to prepare the next generation of pharmacists to lead with purpose. By co-hosting the 2026 SNPhA Regions I and II Conference, Campbell University continues to strengthen its role as a regional and national hub for innovation, inclusion, and excellence in pharmacy education.
