Long Beach, CA - The City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) will celebrate the end of summer by hosting a free concert featuring Southern California funk, R&B and new jack swing band, RemiX. Community members are invited to come together for one last unforgettable summer evening as PRM closes out a robust season of family-friendly programming and events. The concert will take place Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, at El Dorado Park West (2800 N. Studebaker Rd.).

"Join us as we say 'farewell' to summer with an unforgettable concert featuring the greatest party hits and captivating performances from RemiX," said Mayor Rex Richardson. "Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, family and friends and enjoy a final summer evening of free live music.

Pre-concert activities including face painting and games will begin at 5 p.m., with the concert taking place from 6 to 8 p.m. The concert will take place near the corner of Studebaker Road and Willow Street. Concert goers are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and picnic-style dinners and snacks to enjoy while they watch.

RemiX is a tribute band that plays a blend of Funk, R&B and new jack swing. Their performances take concertgoers on a musical journey through all the great party hits of the 80's and 90's with infectious tunes and legendary performances.

Over the 2026 summer season, PRM hosted 76 free and low-cost summer events, including free Movies in the Park viewings, free Long Beach Municipal Band performances, free Long Beach Community band performances, El Dorado Nature Center Summer Concert Series and free Be S.A.F.E Movies. Additionally, this year, PRM hosted seven free watch parties in Long Beach parks in partnership with the City's Office of Special Events and Filming as part of the City's Soccer in the LBC initiative. Offering meaningful recreational programming and events such as these uplifts PRM's Parks Make Long Beach Strategic Plan.
