Pompano Beach Fire Rescue Responds to Boat Fire in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea

Shortly after 6:00 a.m. this morning, Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded to reports of a boat fire at a dock behind 264 S. Tradewinds Avenue in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.

Upon arrival, Fire Rescue crews encountered a 40-foot Carver vessel fully involved in flames. Firefighters immediately initiated suppression operations, working quickly to bring the fire under control and prevent the flames from spreading to nearby vessels and surrounding property.

Crews successfully extinguished the fire and contained the incident to the affected vessel. There were no injuries to civilians or Fire Rescue personnel.

Following suppression efforts, firefighters remained on scene to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and to address any remaining hot spots.

The Pompano Beach Fire Marshal is investigating the origin and cause of the fire. Given the circumstances of the incident, the fire is currently considered suspicious. The investigation remains ongoing.
