Overnight lane closures and rolling roadblocks on I-70 near mile marker 85 for bridge work, Oct 6-9

SALINE COUNTY - Crews will conduct overnight lane closures on Interstate 70 east of Route J (Exit 84) near mile marker 85.8 from Tuesday, Oct. 6 through Friday, Oct. 9. The closures will be in place for girder installation at the Nitrogen Ave. bridge over I-70. All work is weather permitting.

Scheduled traffic modifications.

  • Tuesday, Oct. 6 at approximately 7 p.m. until Wednesday, Oct. 7 at approximately 5 a.m.: left lanes closed on I-70 eastbound and westbound along with intermittent rolling roadblocks.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 7 at approximately 7 p.m. until Thursday, Oct. 8 at approximately 5 a.m.: intermittent lane closures on I-70 eastbound and westbound.
  • Thursday, Oct. 8 until Friday, Oct. 9 from approximately 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. nightly: intermittent lane closures on I-70 eastbound.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
