Credit Unions to Host Event During DC Climate Week

The United Nations Federal Credit Union (UNFCU) and OASFCU are co-hosting a special event on Thursday, April 23 as part of DC Climate Week.

From Risk to Resilience: How Financial Cooperatives are Navigating Climate, will explore the business case for sustainability, specifically best practices on climate risk mitigation across operations, lending and investment portfolios, adaptation strategies, climate finance, as well as the green member experience and affordable solutions. From ways to build community resilience to protecting financial cooperatives' operations and bottomline, there will be something for every credit union just starting or advancing their sustainability journey.

Dr. David Widawsky, Director of US Program, World Resources Institute will serve as keynote speaker, followed by a panel discussion.

The free, interactive convening will bring local credit unions and expert practitioners together to address building resilience and adapting to a changing climate. The discussion and networking reception will take place April 23 from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm at the OAS Building, located at 1889 F Street, NW Washington, DC.
