MoDOT TRAFFIC ALERT: Westbound U.S. Route 60 Traffic Shifted to New Webster County Route A Ramp

Where: Westbound U.S. Route 60 Traffic Shifted to New Webster County Route A Ramp In Diggins

When: Wednesday, April 15 - Monday, April 20

What: Contractor crews to install a pipe crossing and bridge girders on westbound U.S. Route 60 at Route A as part of the U.S. Route 60 and Webster County Route A Interchange improvements project between Diggins and Fordland. Westbound Route 60 traffic will be diverted up and over the new on-off ramps at the New Route A interchange and back onto Route 60.

Traffic Impacts:

• Westbound Route 60 traffic will be diverted up and over the new on-off ramps at the New Route A interchange and back onto Route 60
• U.S. Route 60 Open to one lane in both directions
• Eastbound Route 60 single lane is shifted to the shoulder
• Currently NO access to Route A from the new ramps
• Westbound Route 60 to Southbound Route NN is OPEN
• Northbound Route NN to Westbound Route 60 is CLOSED
• • Northbound Route NN traffic detoured to Route O
• Webster County Route A OPEN and connected to the new North Outer Road in Diggins
• Route A CLOSED south of Normandy Road
• • Traffic detoured to Route O using the new North Outer Road to connect with U.S. Route 60
• Drivers urged to find alternate routes
• Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
• Check MoDOT's Traveler Information Map for road closures/traffic impacts

Project Summary:

• Build interchange at U.S. Route 60 and Webster County Route A
• Build bridge over Route 60 and BNSF Railroad
• Connect Route NN to new Route A interchange with north Outer Road
• Roundabout at new Route NN/Route A intersection south of Route 60
• Construct south Outer Road between Route Z in Fordland and Route A in Diggins along the south side of BNSF Railroad
• Remove nine railroad crossings: Route NN, Greenbriar Drive, Honor Camp Lane, Tandy Road, Hummingbird Lane, Bluebird Lane, three additional private drives
• Remove nine Route 60 highway intersections/private access: A, NN, Route O (right-in, right-out only), as well as Bluebird Lane, Hummingbird Lane (south side), Honor Camp Lane (south side), Greenbriar Drive, and two private accesses

Contractor: Capital Paving & Construction LLC, Jefferson City

The awarded construction cost is $39.8 million.

The project is scheduled for completion in December 2027.
