Cary, NC - Cary Town Hall and most staffed facilities, including community centers, recreation facilities, and cultural arts facilities, will be closed Wednesday through Friday, Dec. 24 - 26 for Christmas and Jan. 1 for New Year's Day. Curbside collection will be delayed by one day for the week of Christmas and New Year's Day for Thursday collection routes only. GoCary will not operate fixed route or door-to-door services on Christmas Day. On Christmas Eve, fixed route service will operate on the Sunday schedule and end at 7 p.m., and door-to-door service will be available for Tier 1 trips only. On New Year's Day, fixed route service will operate on a Sunday schedule, and door-to-door service will again be limited to Tier 1 trips only. Cary 311 will be closed for calls from Dec. 24 - 26 and on Jan. 1. Prior to visiting a Town facility, citizens should check carync.gov/facilities for any additional operational changes.
Like other Cary parks and Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve, Downtown Cary Park remains open daily through the holidays. Downtown Cary Park Guest Services, Market 317, and the Bark Bar will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. Guest Services will also close early at 6 p.m. on New Year's Eve.
Citizens wanting to take in the holiday decorations around downtown Cary are reminded of parking opportunities by using the parking map at carync.gov/parking, and a map of all decorations and displays can be found at carync.gov/holidays.
While outdoor courts will remain open daily, the Cary Tennis Park Clubhouse will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day, with limited hours on Dec. 24, 26, and 31. To see the Cary Tennis Park's full holiday schedule, please visit carync.gov/tennis.
Celebrate the season at Cary's Koka Booth Amphitheatre at the Chinese Lantern Festival, running nightly until Jan. 11 except on Christmas Day. Ticket availability and daily event schedule can be found at boothamphitheatre.com.
When disposing of natural Christmas trees and decorations, remove all decorations and lights prior to placing them curbside on your collection day. Citizens wishing to offload artificial trees or decorations should consider donating them for local reuse before opting to make a bulky collection request at carync.gov/311.
