PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH Tbk continues to demonstrate its commitment to developing the quality of human resources (HR) as a key foundation for welcoming Indonesia's Golden Generation 2045.

PT TIMAH Tbk's commitment is realized through various education programs implemented on a sustainable basis, reaching diverse segments of society, from high-achieving students to children with special needs.

Through its Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSER) programs, PT TIMAH Tbk places the education sector as one of its main priorities in encouraging the creation of a superior, competitive, and well-characterized generation.

One of PT TIMAH Tbk's flagship education programs is the Pemali Boarding School, which consistently supports the development of students' academic potential and character. Initiated in 2000, the program has produced more than 800 alumni.

In 2025, the program benefited 107 students, supported by 10 dormitory supervisors and involving five catering management staff. In addition to focusing on formal education, the Pemali Boarding School also integrates character building, independence, and the strengthening of discipline values for its students.

PT TIMAH Tbk also demonstrates its concern for inclusive education through the Disability Education Program, which targets children with special needs as well as educators and parents.

A number of activities were carried out in 2025, including seminars on children with special needs at the State Special School (SLB Negeri) Koba, Central Bangka, in collaboration with the Bangka Belitung Islands Provincial Education Office, as well as a similar seminar at SLB Negeri Sungailiat, Bangka Regency.

The company also organized eco-print batik skills training at SLB Negeri Muntok, West Bangka, as an effort to develop vocational skills based on local wisdom and environmentally friendly practices.

Overall, PT TIMAH Tbk's Disability Education Program implemented in 2025 benefited 64 teachers, 115 parents, and 10 students.

Not only at the primary and secondary levels, PT TIMAH Tbk also promotes the improvement of human resource quality through support for higher education via its Higher Education Scholarship Program.

In 2025, the company provided assistance to 33 dormitory students of the PT TIMAH Tbk Scholarship Class Program who passed the 2025 National Achievement-Based Selection (SNBP).

In addition, educational and accommodation assistance was also provided to seven students from Bangka Belitung who are pursuing their studies at AKIPBA Muara Enim, South Sumatra Province.

Department Head of Corporate Communication of PT TIMAH Tbk, Anggi Siahaan, stated that human resource development is a strategic step for the future of the nation.

"Through various education programs implemented sustainably, ranging from the Pemali Boarding School, disability education, to higher education scholarships, the company wants to ensure that every child of the nation has equal opportunities to grow and develop," said Anggi.

Anggi added that the company's commitment in the education sector is aligned with efforts to support the realization of Indonesia's Golden Generation 2045.

"The company hopes that inclusive, high-quality, and sustainable education programs will produce a superior generation that is not only academically competent, but also has strong character, independence, and readiness to contribute to national development," she said.

One of the scholarship recipients at the Pemali Boarding School, Andara Vistia, expressed that the Pemali Boarding School has provided many new experiences and hopes for her.

Andara also said that the Pemali Boarding School greatly helps in meeting living and educational needs, allowing students to focus on their studies.

"Here, all of our needs are fulfilled, from daily living needs to schooling-everything is complete, including transportation. So we can fully focus on studying and are also guided in preparation for entering public universities. I truly hope that the Pemali Boarding School program will continue forever, because it genuinely helps underprivileged students who have a strong desire to learn," she said.

One of the parents who participated in the Disability Education Seminar, Aswati, said she was happy and grateful to gain a lot of new knowledge that she could later implement in assisting her child.

"Caring for and educating children with special needs is indeed not easy; there are many challenges. So far, we have only learned from their teachers how to educate our children. Now, thank God, we have gained direct knowledge, and this is very beneficial. Thank you, PT TIMAH Tbk," she said. (*)
