What's new?
Why now?
AI platforms are moving decisively from experimentation to scaled, enterprise-level deployment. Organizations need measurable business outcomes, faster time-to-value, and accountability for adoption, rather than fragmented experimentation. This shift fundamentally changes delivery expectations, and clients are increasingly seeking support across the AI deployment lifecycle, spanning product deployment, integration, scaling, and ongoing operations.
To meet this moment, Accenture is launching a forward deployed engineering (FDE) program with SAP to help organizations identify, develop and implement AI use cases on SAP Business AI Platform faster and more effectively. Through this new program, Accenture and SAP teams will work together, alongside clients to define and prioritize business challenges and co-innovation opportunities for embedding and scaling AI and agentic capabilities across the SAP Autonomous Suite.
Accelerating AI adoption with SAP
The program is designed to help accelerate the development of industry-specific AI solutions on SAP Business AI Platform, translating data into production-ready AI solutions that deliver measurable results. Accenture FDEs will focus on building scalable user experience designs that will help improve platform usability and productivity, while aligning with SAP's product roadmap and engineering standards.
"Many organizations grapple with the complexities of deploying effective AI systems within the intricate landscapes of their enterprise architectures, particularly within critical platforms like SAP," said Manish Sharma, chief strategy and services officer for Accenture. "This collaboration marks a significant step forward in simplifying this challenge and helping organizations harness the full potential of AI within SAP environments, accelerating innovation and delivering tangible results across industries."
"AI delivers the most measurable impact when it is industry specific," said Sebastian Steinhaeuser, COO and Member of the Executive Board, SAP SE. "Our FDE collaboration with Accenture embeds our unique industry logic, business data understanding, and governance capabilities directly into highly bespoke business processes, working closely with customers to create high value AI use cases more quickly and effectively."
Decades of experience, deployed at speed
Drawing on more than four decades of learnings from working with the world's largest organizations, Accenture and SAP will support hundreds of use cases across the SAP solution portfolio. The teams will work closely with clients through discovery sprints, process re-imagination, data integration, rapid AI buildout, and production activation. Accenture will bring its methodologies, assets, and digital twin knowledge to help speed up solution development. Clients will benefit from faster adoption of AI, moving from initial pilots to wider execution, supported by a feedback loop for ongoing improvements.
Accenture and SAP are already collaborating with an oilfield services company on work order prioritization for drilling operations. By applying AI and agentic capabilities within SAP environments, the joint FDE teams are helping the oilfield services company optimize how maintenance and operational tasks are sequenced and executed in real time, helping to improve efficiency, reduce downtime and support more informed decision-making in the field. The solution is deployed across two complementary, SAP-native layers - an operational system of record in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private and an analytical intelligence experience layer on the SAP Business AI Platform. Joule, SAP's AI solution, guides users with contextualized AI workflows powered by SAP knowledge core. Built on SAP AI Core, the solution offers multi-model agent orchestration with enterprise data privacy and governance.
