Chinese Ambassador to Uganda Wu Guangrong Pays a Courtesy Call on Ugandan Vice President Jessica Alupo

On September 7, Ambassador Wu Guangrong paid a courtesy call on H.E. Jessica Alupo, Vice President of Uganda. Mr. Karugaba, Director General of International Political Affairs at Uganda's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and others were present.

Ambassador Wu said that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the China-Uganda comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership has continued to deepen, with steadily stronger political mutual trust, fruitful practical cooperation and renewed vitality in the traditional friendship. China stands ready to work with Uganda to implement the important common understandings reached by the two heads of state and the outcomes of the FOCAC Beijing Summit, jointly advance the Global Governance Initiative, and inject greater impetus into the shared modernization of both countries.

Vice President Alupo welcomed Ambassador Wu to his new post. She said that China-Uganda friendship enjoys deep roots and that bilateral cooperation has contributed significantly to Uganda's economic and social development and brought tangible benefits to its people. Uganda attaches great importance to its relations with China and stands ready to maintain close communication and coordination, unlock greater potential for cooperation in trade and investment, agriculture, energy, the digital economy and other fields, and strengthen coordination in international and regional affairs. Uganda will work with China to deliver new outcomes in mutually beneficial cooperation, better benefit both peoples, and advance the building of a China-Uganda community with a shared future and an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era.
