CTIA Files Comments Responding to the FCC’s WRC-27 Advisory Committee Public Notice

Federal Filing

Aug 24, 2026

CTIA filed the attached comments responding to the FCC's WRC-27 Advisory Committee ("WAC") Public Notice. In the comments, CTIA highlights that we are now at a pivotal moment of the WRC-27 process, requiring the establishment of U.S. proposals, especially on WRC-27 Agenda Item 1.7. We urge the Commission's support for our 4 GHz IMT proposal, as well as our prior submission on 7 GHz, and how these actions would be a decisive step towards U.S. leadership in wireless and AI-enabled networks. Finally, we support the WAC's proposal to adopt non-mandatory limits on terrestrial use above 76 GHz as those services and applications are still emerging, while also opposing a future WRC-31 proposal examining new allocations to the earth exploration satellite service in UMFUS bands.
