Pictured is the reproduction of Hilario's oil painting "Gate City, Carried Forward," the Downtown Arts: Special Commission for City Hall 2026-2027, on display at the Melvin Municipal Office Building in Greensboro, 300 W. Washington St., until July 2027.
"The painting presents a city moving toward a future in which past industries and emerging systems operate as part of a continuous transformation," Hilário said. "The past is not behind us; it is the engine that drives the future forward. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to contribute to Greensboro's visual legacy and hope the painting encourages others to see our community as something we continually build together."
