MoDOT to host public meetings for US-50 Safety and Operational Study in Johnson/Pettis, Nov. 12 & 16

JOHNSON & PETTIS COUNTY - The Missouri Department of Transportation Kansas City (MoDOT KC) will host a public meeting to gather feedback on potential safety and traffic operations along U.S. Route 50 in Johnson and Pettis counties. The study is intended to identify locations for potential safety improvements, including J-turns, outer road extensions, turn lanes, and other corridor safety enhancements as trafffic volumes continue to increase along the corridor. MoDOT is seeking additional public feedback as part of that evaluation.

The public is invited to attend any of the following meetings:

  • Thursday, Nov. 12, 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
    La Monte Elementary School
    301 S. Washington St.
    La Monte, MO 65337
  • Monday, Nov. 16, 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
    Knob Noster High School
    125 NE 23 Highway
    Knob Noster, MO 65336

The meetings will be an open-house meeting with no formal presentation. Opportunities for public comment, displays, and exhibits will be available during and following the meetings on the project webpage: U.S. Route 50 Safety and Operational Study in Johnson and Pettis Counties | Missouri Department of Transportation. The public will continue to receive updates as the future project progresses.
