Osteoboost Launches “The Menopause Bone Health Gap”, Revealing How Women Are Navigating One of Midlife’s Most Overlooked Health Risks

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., October 20, 2026 - Osteoboost Health, developer of the first FDA-cleared drug-free prescription treatment for osteopenia in postmenopausal women, today announced The Menopause Bone Health Gap, a new analysis revealing how women understand and act on their bone health as they age - and where critical gaps are.

Released in recognition of Menopause Awareness Month, the findings come from an independent survey of over 1,000 U.S. women conducted through Centiment and point to a disconnect between women's fracture risk and how prepared they feel to protect their bones.

Among the newly released findings:

  • Nearly 1 in 4 women (23%) were shocked or very surprised to learn than 1 in 2 women over age 50 will break a bone due to osteoporosis
  • Nearly half (49%) said they started taking supplements such as calcium or vitamin D to support their bone health in the past year, while just 28% did strength training
  • Nearly 1 in 5 women (19%) said they have avoided seeing a clinician or getting a scan because of cost at least once
  • When asked about their biggest concern if a doctor recommended prescription medication for bone loss, 26% cited fear of side effects

"Menopause has finally become part of the mainstream health conversation, but bone health is still too often left out of it," said Laura Yecies, CEO of Osteoboost Health. "Women are hearing more about hot flashes, sleep, weight and hormones, but bone loss happens silently. These findings show we need to move beyond awareness and give women earlier, clearer information about their fracture risk, the steps they can take to protect their bones and the full range of evidence-based treatment options available to them."

The new analysis builds on Osteoboost's inaugural 2026 State of Bones Report, released in May, which found widespread gaps in bone-health awareness and screening among U.S. women. The Menopause Bone Health Gap takes the research a step further by examining what women are actually doing to protect their bones, how they perceive their fracture risk, and what may stand between them and treatment.

The findings come as bone health remains an important but often invisible component of the menopause transition. Unlike symptoms such as hot flashes or sleep disruption, women cannot feel their bone density declining - making proactive education, early screening, and prevention particularly important as they age.

Osteoboost is working to bring bone health earlier into the menopause conversation and expand treatment options for women with low bone density. Osteoboost's wearable precision vibration therapy delivers targeted mechanical stimulation to the spine and hips and is worn for 30 minutes per day. To learn more visit www.osteoboost.com.
