Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs meets with Vice Chairman and CEO of the Munich Security Conference (MSC)

On 18 August 2026, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, met with Dr. Benedikt Franke, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Munich Security Conference (MSC), during his visit to Thailand to participate in the Thailand Security Dialogue 2026 in Bangkok.

Both sides exchanged views on geopolitical developments, the role of middle powers, and the importance of strengthening multilateralism and global governance amid growing global uncertainties. They also discussed ways to further enhance Thailand's engagement with the MSC in order to incorporate Thai and Southeast Asian perspectives into MSC discussions. Dr. Benedikt Franke looked forward to the participation of high-ranking officials and agencies for security studies from Thailand in the upcoming MSC events, including the Munich Leaders Meeting 2026 in New Delhi and the MSC 2027 in Munich.
