WASHINGTON-Idaho Congressman Mike Simpson cosponsored H.R. 5483 - the Chloe Cole Act, a bill that codifies President Trump's efforts to protect and defend children from chemical and surgical mutilation under the guise of "gender affirming care," in line with President Trump's Executive Order 14187 - Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation. This legislation is sponsored by Rep. Bob Onder (R-MO).
"The Left's dangerous gender ideology has permanently harmed vulnerable children across America. The mutilation and sterilization have left innocent children with irreversible damage to their bodies. Thousands of children have been misled by this insanity, and it must end. Thanks to President Trump's executive action, some of the nation's biggest 'gender-affirming care' centers are closing. The fight does not stop here - that's why Congress must act quickly to enact legislation to protect our children from these harmful procedures," said Rep. Simpson, an original cosponsor.
The Victims of Chemical or Surgical Mutilation Act prohibits healthcare professionals, physicians, hospitals, or clinics from participating in the chemical or surgical mutilation of a child, and provides a private right of action for children and the parents of children whose healthy body parts have been damaged by medical professionals practicing chemical and surgical mutilation.
This legislation is sponsored by Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) in the Senate. The full text of the bill is available here.
