Ag in Color Winners Announced

The Montana Farm Bureau Federation has announced the winners of the Montana Youth Agriculture Literacy program drawing contest. "Ag in Color" was developed in recognition of National Ag Week, March 15-21, 2026, as a creative competition for elementary school children. Each grade was given a different agricultural theme ranging from "Grains of Montana" and "Cattle in Montana" to noxious weeds, farm safety and ag-related careers. One winner was selected from each grade with judges selecting one drawing from the winners to receive the "Farm Bureau Proud" designation.

The "Ag in Color" drawing contest was open to any Montana student enrolled in kindergarten through 6th grade. Entries were judged on agricultural content, originality, neatness and reproducibility.

"Members of the Women's Leadership Committee had the honor of judging the Montana Ag in Color program drawing contest during the recently held DUAL training seminar. DUAL training consisted of members of the Promotion and Engagement and Women's Leadership Committees," said WLC Chair Heidi Brewer. "Both committees joined forces to judge the 2026 "Ag in Color" entries. County Farm Bureaus send their winners for the state level judging, so the entries judged were the 'best of the best.' A different theme is chosen for each grade level teaching students the importance farmers and ranchers play in their everyday lives while producing food to feed the world."
