Community service providers accepting donations for residents affected by fire

STATEMENT - Distributed December 31, 2025 3:00 PM

Two Nanaimo service providers are accepting monetary donations to support those affected by the Value Lodge fire on December 26. These organizations are working directly with residents displaced by the fire, and all funds will be used to help cover costs associated with securing new accommodations.

Donations can be made by calling:

Nanaimo Family Life Association (250) 754-3331

OR

Connective Society (250) 754-1266

The City extends sincere thanks to members of the community for their generosity and willingness to help. At this time, affected residents have access to safe accommodation, food and sufficient clothing. Additional donations of goods are no longer required.

Your continued compassion and support are deeply appreciated.
