The FIFA World Cup 2026 Miami Host Committee named the University of Miami as an Official Miami World Cup 2026 Host City Supporter, reinforcing a shared commitment to lasting community impact as one of the world's largest sporting events comes to South Florida.

Over the course of seven matches in South Florida, the FIFA World Cup 2026 is projected to generate up to $1.3 billion in economic impact in Miami, with an estimated one million visitors expected during the summer. The event will place significant demand on city infrastructure and operations while delivering a significant boost to local businesses, hotels, and restaurants.

"The FIFA World Cup 2026 will bring an unprecedented number of visitors to Miami in a short period of time. We are thrilled to collaborate with the Miami Host Committee to support the city as it prepares for that special moment. We also share their commitment to ensure something real is left behind, which is why we are excited to be a part of a new soccer field for Miami youth that the community can use long after the events," said Tanya Andreadis, senior vice president and chief marketing, communications, and digital officer for the University of Miami.

The University's strategic relationship includes a community legacy investment aligned with ONE GAME ONE FUTURE, the FIFA World Cup 2026 Miami Host Committee overarching legacy initiative. The University will support the Host Committee's efforts to prepare for the influx of visitors while also contributing to a community-focused initiative through the development of a new soccer field in an underserved area. The field is intended to provide a lasting resource for local youth and expand access to the sport.

"The University of Miami is deeply woven into the fabric of this community, and its alignment with the Host Committee reflects the very best of what our city represents. I know firsthand the University's longstanding commitment to education, athletics, innovation, and service - values that mirror the spirit of Miami itself. As we prepare to welcome the world, we are proud to stand alongside an institution whose roots are here at home, yet whose impact reaches across the globe," said Alina T. Hudak, president and CEO of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Miami Host Committee.

Together, the FIFA World Cup 2026 Miami Host Committee and the University of Miami aim to support a successful World Cup while ensuring a tangible, lasting benefit for the community.
