Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to ASEAN presents Credentials to Secretary-General of ASEAN

JAKARTA, 20 October 2025 - H.E. Ambassador Ivana Golubović-Duboka presented her Letter of Credence to the Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat today, marking the assumption of her post as the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to ASEAN.

Secretary-General Dr. Kao congratulated Ambassador Golubović-Duboka on her appointment and reaffirmed the ASEAN Secretariat's readiness to work closely with her and the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of Indonesia to promote ASEAN and Serbia relations. In response, Ambassador Golubović-Duboka expressed her commitment to deepening cooperation between ASEAN and Serbia.

Ambassador Golubović-Duboka underscored Serbia's commitment to enhancing its presence in the region and deepening its engagement with ASEAN over the past years, manifested through its accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC) in 2023. She added that Serbia's request to obtain Observer status at the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) further reflects its keenness in forging closer ties with ASEAN and its Member States.

Both sides recognised the opportunities to strengthen cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, business-to-business ties, tourism, connectivity, digital economy, agriculture, and mining.

Serbia accredited its first Ambassador to ASEAN in 2013. Ambassador Golubović-Duboka succeeds Ambassador Slobodan Marinković, who completed his tenure in October 2023.
