Athens Trick or Treat to be held Friday, October 31 from 5:30-7:30 pm

Date: Friday, October 31, 2025

Time: 5:30 - 7:30 pm

Trick or Treat Guidelines:

  • Leave the Light On - Participating households should turn on their front porch light - assume any house without a light on is not participating.
  • Be Visible - Decorate costumes and bags with reflective tape or stickers, carry glow sticks or flashlights.
  • Lookout for Traffic - Cross the street at corners, always walk on sidewalks or paths, watch for cars that are turning or backing up. Never dart into the street.
  • Drivers Beware - Drive extra slow and watch for children crossing the road.
  • Parent or Guardian if Under 12 - If your child is under 12, join them for trick or treating. If your child is old enough to go with a group of peers or mature enough, make a route with them ahead of time and set a designated meetup point for when they are done.
  • Accessible Treats - Consider handing out candy from your driveway, garage, or front yard if your porch has steps to assist those with mobility limitations.
  • Alternative Treats - Offer small toys, stickers, or non-food items for kids with allergies or dietary restrictions.
  • Patience & Kindness - Some children may take longer to communicate, may not say "trick-or-treat," or may use assistive devices. A smile and a treat go a long way!
