Kampala, September 10th, 2025 - Chinese Ambassador to Uganda Zhang Lizhong attended and delivered remarks at the launch of the 2024 Chinese Enterprises in Uganda Social Responsibility Report. Mr. Diao Chunhe, Executive Chairman of the China-Africa CSR Alliance, led a delegation to the event. Ugandan dignitaries including Third Deputy Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Lukia Nakadama, Minister of ICT and National Guidance Hon. Chris Baryomunsi, and Minister of Works and Transport Hon. Gen. Katumba Wamala were also present.
Ambassador Zhang highlighted the Global Governance Initiative (GGI) in his remarks, spoke highly of the contributions made by Chinese enterprises to Uganda's economic and social development, and noted that China-Uganda relations are at their best in history. He reaffirmed China's readiness to continue supporting enterprises in operating in compliance with local laws and actively fulfilling their social responsibilities, so as to help Uganda achieve Vision 2040 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Deputy Prime Minister Nakadama affirmed the deep-rooted friendship between Uganda and China, recognizing Chinese enterprises as trustworthy partners. She praised their commitment to public welfare and social responsibility, expressing hope for expanded cooperation in agricultural modernization, youth empowerment, and green development.
The event was organized by the Uganda China Chamber of Commerce in Uganda and attended by over 100 representatives from government, business, and local communities.
