LAKEPORT, Calif. - Sutter Health has named Tara Overmiller chief executive officer of Sutter Lakeside Hospital, effective Nov. 16, 2026. Overmiller brings more than 20 years of health care leadership experience and will oversee hospital operations and strategic growth serving patients throughout Lake County. She will partner closely with Sutter Lakeside's Chief Medical Executive Dr. Christina Lasich to advance high-quality, coordinated care across the region.
Sutter Lakeside Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital and 25-bed critical access hospital serving Lake County and surrounding communities from its Lakeport campus. As part of Sutter Health, the hospital provides 24/7 emergency care, Level I trauma services, inpatient and surgical care, labor and delivery, cancer care, diagnostic services and specialty care, while connecting patients to the broader expertise and resources of the Sutter system.
"Tara brings strong rural health care experience and a track record of leading through growth," said Christina Oh, chief operating officer for Sutter Health. "She will be an important part of Sutter Lakeside's next chapter as we expand care and services in Lake County. We're excited to welcome her to the team."
Overmiller currently serves as CEO of Phillips County Health Systems in northwest Kansas, where she oversees inpatient, emergency, outpatient, rehabilitation, behavioral health, specialty clinic and community health services. During her tenure, she has led initiatives to modernize facilities, strengthen provider recruitment, improve operational performance and position the organization for long-term growth.

Prior to becoming CEO, Overmiller held leadership roles at Phillips County Health Systems, including chief operating officer, chief strategy officer and marketing director. She also served as director of growth and marketing for Midwest Family Health, where she helped advance growth strategies, market expansion efforts and strategic partnerships.
Overmiller earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and management and a master's degree in business administration and leadership from Fort Hays State University. She also holds a Master Business Project Manager certification from Utah State University.
