United States Attorney Lesley A. Woods announced that David Pardinas, 39, of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced on October 9, 2026, in federal court in Lincoln, Nebraska, for one count of distribution of child pornography. United States District Judge Susan M. Bazis sentenced Pardinas to 300 months' imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system. After Pardinas's release from prison, he will begin a lifetime term of supervised release. Pardinas was additionally ordered to pay $9,000 in restitution.
On December 10, 2024, an online cybertip was submitted to the FBI National Threat Operations Center regarding Pardinas being in possession of child pornography in Omaha. According to the cybertips, the reporting party had let Pardinas use her cell phone and Pardinas forgot to log out of his email account before he provided the phone back. The reporting party stated that she saw very disturbing videos and photos in his email account. Agents obtained Pardinas's criminal history and learned that he was previously convicted in Hall County, Nebraska in 2020 for sexual assault on a child 3rd degree and criminal attempt-possession of child pornography, both felony offenses.
FBI Omaha's investigation discovered four additional cybertips reported to National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) which were tied to Pardinas's email address. The most recent report was submitted by a social media platform on October 31, 2024. The cybertips indicated images were shared by Pardinas to another individual. The cybertip contained at total of 29 images and videos of child sex abuse material reportedly shared by Pardinas on the social media platform.
On December 17, 2024, Pardinas was arrested for a probation violation stemming from possession of a controlled substance. Law enforcement interviewed Pardinas and he admitted ownership of the email addresses listed within the cybertips.
Law enforcement received search warrants for his email account and the social media account tied to the cybertips. A search of those accounts revealed 74 images of child pornography and 180 videos of child pornography. A review of the social media account revealed numerous instances of Pardinas trading and sharing child pornography with other users.
"Law enforcement is to be commended for taking this predator out of the Omaha community," said United States Attorney Lesley Woods. "Nebraska is a safer place for children with this offender behind bars for the next 25 years."
