Driver Killed In Tuesday Morning's Head-On Collision On Buena Vista Pike
The driver of a Honda Accord involved in Tuesday's 6 a.m. head-on collision in the 2400 block of Buena Vista Pike has died. The preliminary investigation indicates the eastbound Accord failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and crossed into oncoming lanes where it struck a westbound Dodge Charger.
Both drivers were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The 18-year-old driver of the Charger had minor injuries.
The Accord driver, Robert Johnston, 43, died as a result of his injuries. The Medical Examiner's Office will perform toxicology testing to determine if impairment was a factor in this fatal crash.
