Riders can now book trips up to seven days in advance
Lincoln Transportation and Utilities today announced that paratransit riders may now plan trips up to seven days in advance using the VANLNK mobile app, giving them more flexibility in travel planning.
"We continue to enhance our customer service to support riders through their entire StarTran experience," said Carla Cosier, LTU Assistant Director of Transit. "The VANLNK app now lets riders plan their trips in advance, choose the method that works best for them, and travel with greater flexibility and confidence in planning their day."
Riders may schedule paratransit trips in the following ways:
Riders must book reservations by 4:30 p.m. the day before their ride. Same-day requests are accepted on a space-available basis, either by phone or through the VANLNK app. Riders are encouraged to schedule return trips in advance.
Reservation confirmations are sent to the rider via phone call or text message. Once confirmed, riders are responsible for knowing and keeping track of their scheduled reservations. On Sundays and holidays, riders may leave requests on the Paratransit Office voicemail for the next business day. A dispatcher will confirm requests by phone.
LTU works to honor preferred pick-up times. High demand may require adjustments up to one hour earlier or later than requested. Reservation space is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
