Dentons HPRP has strengthened its Partnership with the appointment of Akbar Bayu and Leonardo Richo Sidabutar as Partners, and the addition of Rita Mansjur as a Partner in its Tax practice. The move reinforces the firm's capabilities across corporate and commercial matters, dispute resolution, and tax, responding to the increasingly complex needs of businesses operating in Indonesia.
The appointments bring together experience across corporate transactions, complex disputes and taxation, with particular depth in highly regulated and strategic sectors including mining and natural resources, energy, infrastructure, financial services, TMT, transportation and manufacturing.
Akbar Bayu joins the Partnership in the Corporate and Commercial practice, bringing more than 15 years of experience advising domestic and international clients on corporate transactions, mining and natural resources, TMT, real estate and regulatory matters. A Certified Mining Legal Consultant (C.M.L.C.), he has advised on acquisitions, divestments, cross-border investments and regulatory compliance, particularly across Indonesia's mining sector.
"I am deeply grateful for this opportunity to direct our firm's next chapter of growth. Working alongside our talented team and trusted clients, my focus will be on crafting sharp, commercially grounded solutions that seamlessly adapt to Indonesia's regulatory landscape, particularly within the dynamic natural resources sector," said Akbar Bayu.
Leonardo Richo Sidabutar is appointed as a Partner in the Dispute Resolution practice, with more than 17 years of experience in commercial litigation, arbitration, restructuring and insolvency, bankruptcy, and state administrative disputes. He has represented Indonesian and international companies across sectors including energy, mining, infrastructure, transportation, shipping and financial services.
"Being appointed as a Partner is both an honour and a responsibility. It reinforces my commitment to serving our clients with dedication, professionalism and integrity, particularly when they are facing complex and high-stakes disputes. I am passionate about delivering solutions that are not only legally robust, but also practical and aligned with our clients' commercial objectives. I look forward to contributing more broadly to the firm, strengthening our dispute resolution capabilities and continuing to grow alongside our clients and colleagues," said Leonardo Richo Sidabutar.
Rita Mansjur joins Dentons HPRP as a Partner in the Tax practice, bringing more than 20 years of tax experience across public accounting, consulting and in-house roles. She advises on tax compliance, advisory and planning, audits, disputes and litigation, as well as tax aspects of transactions and business restructurings.
"Dentons HPRP's strong platform and multidisciplinary approach provide an excellent environment to deliver integrated tax solutions to clients. I am excited to work with the team and contribute to the continued development of the firm's Tax practice," said Rita Mansjur.
