The Florida Atlantic University Foundation (FAUF) raised more than $70 million from nearly 10,000 donors at the close of the 2026 fiscal year, marking one of the top five fundraising totals in the university's history.
"This milestone reflects the extraordinary generosity of the many supporters who believe in Florida Atlantic and its mission of serving our students and community," said FAU President Adam Hasner. "As a result of their investment, scholarships, enhanced academic programs and innovative research are opening doors for our students, strengthening our rise as an R1 top-tier research university, and expanding our impact across our region, state and beyond. We deeply appreciate our donors who continue to make Florida Atlantic the place 'where tomorrow begins.'"
During this fundraising period, FAU received several significant gifts, including $2 million from Michelle and Michael Hagerty to support athletics scholarships and the Competitive Excellence Fund; $1.8 million from Mark Swillinger to establish a professorship in hospice and palliative care nursing and additional support; $1.5 million from Leif Carlsson, Ph.D., J.M. Rubin Foundation Professor, and Seija Carlsson to provide scholarships and programmatic support for students studying ocean and mechanical engineering, as well as biology; $1.5 million from the Aaron Family Foundation and Ubicquia, Inc., a Fort Lauderdale-based technology company, to establish the Ubicquia Innovation Center for Intelligent Infrastructure; $1 million from the Levine Family Foundation to establish the Michael R. Levine AI-Enabled Hands-On Learning Lab; and a transformational gift from Wayne and Lucretia Weiner to support the School of Environmental, Coastal, and Ocean Sustainability.
"This achievement is a powerful reflection of the trust and commitment our donors have placed in Florida Atlantic," said Blake B. Davis, vice president for institutional advancement and CEO of the FAUF. "Their generosity fuels momentum across the university and helps create meaningful opportunities for students, faculty and our community. We are grateful for every donor whose support continues to move Florida Atlantic forward."
This fiscal year, Florida Atlantic also concluded its comprehensive fundraising campaign, "Transcend Tomorrow: The Campaign for Florida Atlantic University," surpassing its goal and raising more than $617 million. More than 65,000 alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends made gifts to FAU during the campaign.
"On behalf of the FAU Foundation Board, we extend our sincere appreciation to the donors whose generosity strengthens Florida Atlantic's mission and the people it serves," said Brian Poulin, FAUF board chair. "Their belief in our students, faculty and programs is helping advance academic excellence, research and programs in ways that will benefit Florida Atlantic and our community for generations to come."
