UToledo Health to Host Trunk-or-Treat on Oct. 25

UToledo Health will host its annual trunk-or-treat event on Saturday, Oct. 25, providing a daytime alternative to traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 3:30 to 5 p.m. outside the Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center. Free parking is available Area 46, which located off East Medical Loop on The University of Toledo's Health Science Campus.

Costumes are encouraged for both kids and adults.

In addition to 40-plus candy stations staffed by UToledo Health employees and community volunteers, there will be free donuts and drinks, face painting and temporary tattoos, plus appearances by Rocksy and representatives from Rocket Athletics. Visitors also will be able to vote on the best-decorated trunk and their favorite pumpkin decorated by UToledo Health staff.

"This has quickly become one of my favorite events of the year," said Tara Parker, director of customer service at the University of Toledo Medical Center. "It's a fun environment, it's a safe way for kids to celebrate Halloween and it's a great opportunity for us to come together with the community. Our employees look forward to this and we've seen great support from the community."

Last year's trunk-or-treat event drew about 400 families.

There are still opportunities for UToledo employees from both campuses to participate in the event by hosting a trunk and handing out candy or assisting with parking and wayfinding. Employees also can donate candy.
