Dr. Licitra brings over 25 years of nursing and patient care service to this role from her past experience at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

Christopher Mastromano, CEO of NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi | North Central Bronx, today announced the appointment of Catherine Licitra, DNP, RN, CPHQ, CPPS as Chief of Quality for the Jacobi and North Central Bronx campuses. Dr. Licitra brings over 25 years of nursing and patient care service to this role from her past experience at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
In her past role as Patient Safety Director, Dr. Licitra oversaw patient safety operations across the organization, including incident management, root cause analyses, regulatory reporting and corrective action implementation. She then worked with leadership to create a comprehensive incident reporting system, coordinated quality safety initiatives, and developed staff training to create a high reliability culture and enhanced patient care outcomes. She also supported the patient and family advisory council for quality initiatives, integrating patient and family perspectives into safety and quality programs.

Prior to this role, Dr. Licitra served as a Nurse Leader in the Clinical Decision Unit and Urgent Care Center where she managed staffing, training, patient flow, budgets, and workflows for 120 full time employees and a $9 million operating budget. She also helped develop a nine-bed clinical decision unit (CDU) for medical oncology patients.
Beyond her work experience and credentials, she has been involved in the publication of seven medical articles and is a member of both the National Association of Healthcare Quality and the American Organization of Nurse Executives.
Dr. Licitra holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from College of Mount Saint Vincent, a Masters in Nursing Administration from New York University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Duke University's Executive Leadership Program.
