Hoover Co-organizes 2026 Workshop on Postwar Taiwan

Hoover Institution (Stanford, CA) - The Hoover Institution Library & Archives joined the Institute of Modern History, Academia Sinica (Taipei), and the National Tsing Hua University of Taiwan, in cohosting the 2026 Workshop on Postwar Taiwan.

The event, held at the Academia Sinica on March 20, 2026, was attended by scholars, researchers, and graduate students from the United States, United Kingdom, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea. Several speakers had previously traveled to Hoover to utilize its archival holdings.

The workshop focused on topics ranging from Taiwan's legal status, foreign affairs, economic reforms, nuclear and industrial policy, military actions against China, and the island state's relationship with the United States.
