We need your help to choose the winner in the county's first-ever "I Voted" election sticker contest!
Middle-schoolers across the county submitted over 220 designs for stickers that celebrate America's 250th anniversary in 2026. Twelve finalist designs will go head-to-head in online voting to decide which art will appear on St. Charles County "I Voted" stickers for every election in 2026, starting with municipal elections in April.
Beginning Jan. 8, members of the public will decide the winner of the contest by going to the Election Authority website and selecting your favorite design. Voting will be open until Jan. 22.
We can't reveal the finalist designs just yet until the voting opens, but Elections Director Kurt Bahr says he's excited for the public to be just as impressed as he is.
"We received so many great submissions, it was very hard to narrow them down. You can tell the students had fun and got into the spirit of the 250th anniversary," says Elections Director Kurt Bahr. "We are excited to see which one will be our sticker for next year."
Congratulations to the students who submitted finalist designs:
In addition to being on the "I Voted" stickers, copies of the winning art will be displayed with credit to the artist at every polling place in the county during this year's elections. A giant-sized version will also be up year-round outside the Election Authority office in St. Peters.
The "I Voted" sticker contest received submissions from local students in 6th-8th grade (or equivalent ages) in the fall. To select the finalists, the names of the artists were removed before a panel of Election Authority staff evaluated the creativity of the designs and how well they exemplified the theme of celebrating America's 250th anniversary. All submissions are displayed in a gallery in the voting area at the Election Authority office and will be viewable during the absentee voting periods for the April, August, and November elections this year.
