Escambia County has launched an interactive online dashboard for residents to track the progress of Hurricane Isaias debris collection in the county, which is now available at MyEscambia.com/debris.
Hurricane Isaias debris removal is well underway in Escambia County, with county crews and contractors out collecting debris since Monday, Oct. 12 following the storm. To date, county contractors and staff have collected over 1 million cubic yards of hurricane debris.
The dashboard shows a running total of the amount of hurricane debris collected in Escambia County, including vegetative debris, construction and demolition debris, and a grand total of both categories. The dashboard also tracks the number of hazardous trees that have had limbs cut or have been removed completely, with the total currently exceeding 26,000 trees.
Residents can also view two interactive maps on the dashboard:
Both maps also display locations where debris has been collected, with color-coded dots marking removal points for vegetative debris, construction and demolition debris, and individual trees. Residents may zoom in on the maps to view these debris dots.
Note: The absence of a dot on the map does not mean the area will not be serviced. Crews will make several passes to collect all debris, so residents can keep placing debris curbside if everything is not collected on the first pass.
Escambia County currently has approximately 270 units out collecting throughout the county, in addition to 83 bucket trucks to assist with tree removal.
The total amount of vegetative debris to be collected countywide from Hurricane Isaias is estimated at approximately 2.2 million cubic yards. Escambia County appreciates the public's patience as crews work to collect all hurricane debris as safely and efficiently as possible.
Escambia County will make an announcement prior to the final pass for debris collection, so residents are encouraged to monitor myescambia.com or the Escambia County Facebook page for updates. Escambia County residents with questions about hurricane debris collection are encouraged to call 850-332-1226 to reach the debris pickup call center, which is open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
