Are they cooked? Come with Captain Atom as he learns to cook with Chef Rachel. The new Bledsoe-Miller STEAM Center will feature a state-of-the-art Teaching Kitchen, where science, creativity, and healthy living come together through hands-on cooking experiences for all ages!

Captain Atom, our Waco STEAMbot is more than just a character - he's the spirited guide and mentor of Waco's STEAM Center, embodying curiosity, exploration, and innovation. With one foot in science and the other in imagination, Captain Atom's mission is to ignite a love of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math in learners of all ages.

The grand opening for the STEAM Center is scheduled for January 2026. Once complete, the new facility will provide a transformative community space where people of all ages can explore science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math through hands-on experiences. With support from local partners, the STEAM Center will offer the most up-to-date curriculum and expert instruction to drive innovation, education, and opportunity for everyone.
