Statement of Solidarity with Minnesotans Impacted by Wildfires

As wildfires continue to threaten communities across Minnesota, MAPE stands in unwavering solidarity with every person, family and worker whose lives have been turned upside down by these devastating fires.

Our hearts are with those who have been forced to leave their homes, those who have suffered unimaginable loss, and those facing uncertainty about what comes next.

We are deeply grateful to the firefighters, emergency responders, state employees, utility workers, health care professionals and countless others working around the clock to protect lives, provide critical services and support displaced Minnesotans. Thank you to MAPE members in the DNR and DPS who are actively responding to the fires for their courage, dedication and selfless service embodying the very best of our state.

The labor movement is built on the belief that we are stronger together. In moments like these, solidarity means more than standing beside one another in words. It means showing up, lending a hand, advocating for those in need and ensuring no one faces hardship alone.

MAPE remains committed to supporting affected communities and advocating for the resources, protections and public investments workers and families need to rebuild. Together, we will face this challenge with resilience, compassion and an unshakable commitment to one another.

When Minnesota hurts, we all hurt. And when Minnesota rebuilds, we will rebuild together.
