PUBLIC NOTICE: Wrangell School Renovations - 3 Sites Project

The City and Borough of Wrangell is pleased to announce the upcoming start of the Wrangell Schools Renovations - 3 Sites project. In preparation for construction, the contractor has staged roofing materials near the work areas. Active renovations are scheduled to officially begin the week of October 20th.

The project encompasses key renovations across three school sites, as well as roofing improvements at the Swimming Pool:

Work will commence at the Elementary School. Once renovations are finished, the contractor will demobilize from the site and relocate to the Middle School. High School renovations will be the final site phase on the schedule, along with roofing work at the Swimming Pool, taking place throughout Summer 2027.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Wrangell community for voting to approve the $3.4 million in general obligation bonds for the School project. This local match commitment was essential in securing the $6.4 million grant from the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development (DEED), making these vital improvements possible for our students and community.
