The North Greenwood Citizens Advisory Committee met on March 4 to share updates on neighborhood initiatives, redevelopment efforts, and community programs across the North Greenwood district. The meeting brought together residents, city staff, and community partners to discuss ongoing investments, highlight program successes, and review projects supporting neighborhood improvement and economic opportunity.

Residential Grant Spotlight: Leron Roberts Shares Home Improvement Success

North Greenwood Residential Grant Awardee Leron Roberts shared how the North Greenwood Residential Exterior Improvement Grant helped improve his home. The project included replacing exterior doors and windows, exterior painting, and other exterior repairs that improved the safety and appearance of the property. He was approved for a grant award of up to $14,795.

Community Leadership: New Member Joins the Committee

The committee welcomed Chantale Davis, Founder and President of A Mother's Arm, as the newest member of the North Greenwood Citizens Advisory Committee. Ms. Davis is known for her work supporting families and community initiatives through her organization, bringing an important community voice to discussions focused on North Greenwood initiatives.

Introducing Clearwater's New Neighborhoods Coordinator

Attendees were also introduced to Kyree Sellman, the city of Clearwater's Neighborhoods Coordinator within the Public Communications Department. Sellman joined the team in November 2025 and works with neighborhoods across Clearwater to strengthen communication between residents and the city while supporting community outreach.

North Greenwood Mural Festival Update

Amber Brice, city of Clearwater Arts and Cultural Affairs Manager, presented an update on the North Greenwood Mural Festival, an initiative aimed at bringing new public art to locations throughout the district. Potential mural sites include the Parks Beautification Building, North Greenwood Recreation Center storage building, Big Jim's BBQ, the Clearwater African American Historical Museum, and Cherry Harris Park, along with other locations along the Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue corridor.

The Grove Project Update

Gloria Campbell, Executive Director of the Clearwater Urban Leadership Coalition, presents an update on The Grove project during the North Greenwood Citizens Advisory Committee meeting.

The committee also received an update on The Grove project, presented by Gloria Campbell, Executive Director of the Clearwater Urban Leadership Coalition. Campbell shared a Business Showcase summary and project timeline highlighting continued progress on the initiative, which supports entrepreneurship and small business development in North Greenwood.
