Remembering the Fallen
On Memorial Day, we gathered at the San Francisco National Cemetery in the Presidio to honor the brave servicemembers who gave their lives in defense of our Democracy and our freedoms. On those sacred grounds overlooking the Bay, we paid tribute to generations of Americans whose courage and sacrifice continue to inspire our nation.
This year's observance marked 158 years since Americans first gathered to decorate the graves of fallen Civil War soldiers in what became Memorial Day. As we remembered our fallen heroes, we also renewed our sacred promise to support our servicemembers, veterans, military families and caregivers-and to build a country worthy of their sacrifice.

For The Children
This week, I had the pleasure of visiting with the Girl Scouts of Northern California as they worked toward their "Resilient, Ready, Strong" patch. Spending time with Troop 62106 was a joyful reminder that when we empower young people with confidence, we help prepare the leaders who will shape a brighter future for us all.
Few responsibilities are more important than investing in the next generation. The future of our communities, our country and our Democracy depends on ensuring every young person has the opportunity to learn, grow and pursue their dreams.

An Enduring Icon
For 89 years, the Golden Gate Bridge has stood as a testament to San Francisco's ingenuity, resilience and belief that no challenge is too great when people come together with a shared purpose.
As we celebrated the anniversary of our iconic landmark this week, we honored the workers, engineers and visionaries whose ambition transformed a bold idea into one of the most recognizable structures in the world. The Golden Gate Bridge remains a marvel of engineering and a symbol of the spirit, determination and optimism that continue to define San Francisco.
