Lane Closure - 26th Street

Beginning on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, the outside westbound lane of East 26th Street will be intermittently closed between Cleveland Avenue and Sycamore Avenue to allow crews to perform sidewalk repairs.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to be completed within one week.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane & Sidewalk Closure - 49th Street

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, the westbound lanes of West 49th Street and the north sidewalk will be closed between Elmwood Avenue and Western Avenue. Traffic will be shifted to the south half of the road, and one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction. Pedestrian traffic will be detoured to the south side of 49th Street through the work area.

MJ Electric will be performing electric utility work. The closure is anticipated to be in place for three weeks with favorable conditions.

Intersection Closure - 12th Street & Phillips Avenue

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2026, the intersection at 12th Street and Phillips Avenue will be closed.

Sir Lines-A-Lot will be installing decorative pavement markings. The work is anticipated to be completed and traffic control removed prior to 12:00 p.m. on the same day.

Street Closure - 271st Street (Highway 106)

Beginning on Thursday, October 22, 2026, 271st Street (Lincoln County Highway 106) will be closed between Minnesota Avenue and Cliff Avenue from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. to allow crews to backfill excavation work and prepare for asphalt placement.

Westbound and eastbound traffic on 271st Street should utilize 85th Street or Veterans Parkway as alternate routes. Northbound and southbound traffic will remain open on Cliff Avenue and Minnesota Avenue.

This work is anticipated to be complete, and 271st Street reopened to traffic, by 6:00 a.m. on Friday morning, October 23, 2026.
