U.S. Senator Katie Britt Votes to Confirm Bill Lewis as District Judge for Middle District of Alabama

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) today released the following statement after the Senate confirmed Bill Lewis to be a district judge for the Middle District of Alabama by a vote of 58-40.

"Today, the Senate confirmed Justice Bill Lewis, another of President Trump's outstanding judicial nominees, to serve as a federal district court judge in the Middle District of Alabama. Throughout his career, he has served our great state with distinction. Since 2016, Justice Lewis has served as a circuit judge for Alabama's 19th Judicial Circuit, a judge on Alabama's Court of Civil Appeals, and, currently, as an Associate Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court. Before his time on the bench, he gained valuable experience as both a prosecutor and a defense attorney. Justice Lewis's extensive judicial experience, deep understanding of the law, and lifelong dedication to serving the people of our state make him an outstanding choice for the federal bench. I was proud to vote to confirm him today."
