Attorney General Clark Announces 2026 Legal Community Fighting Hunger Food and Diaper Drive

Members of the Vermont legal community have mobilized for the past nine years to donate food and other essential goods to Vermonters in need through the Vermont Legal Community Fighting Hunger Food and Diaper Drive. Attorney General Charity Clark today announced the landmark 10th Annual Food and Diaper Drive will kick off on September 4th. The drive is organized through the Attorney General's Office (AGO) in partnership with the Vermont Foodbank, Vermont Bar Association, and Vermont Paralegal Organization.

Each year, law offices throughout the state participate by raising funds and collecting food and other essential goods to support communities across Vermont. This year's food and diaper drive will run from Friday, September 4th through Friday, September 18th. Over the past nine years, the Vermont legal community has collectively raised over $99,000 and donated over 14,600 food items and other basic necessities, including diapers.

"No Vermonter should have to wonder where their next meal is going to come from or if they can afford basic necessities for themselves and their family," said Attorney General Clark. "I am proud to announce that, for the 10th year, Vermont's legal community is coming together to provide food and other essential goods to Vermonters in need. This is especially critical at a time when families are facing rising food prices and efforts to scale back federally funded food and nutrition programs."

Any member of the Vermont legal community-lawyer, paralegal, law office, law student, and others-who would like to participate in this year's drive can contact the office for more information. Participants can create a Vermont Foodbank virtual fundraising page, host a collection box for essential items and/or diapers, or do a combination of both. Together, these contributions provide food and essential goods to the hands of Vermonters across the state.
