Board of County Commissioners' Schedule for April 27 - May 1, 2026

MONDAY, April 27
4:00 p.m. - Commissioner Porter-Norton's Call-In Office Hours
Commissioner Porter-Norton will host call-in office hours from 4 to 5:30pm. Residents are encouraged to call 970-382-6215 to discuss any county concerns.

TUESDAY, April 28
8:30 a.m. - Executive Session
Pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute § 24-6-402 (4), upon the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the quorum present, the La Plata County Board of County Commissioners will hold an executive session to discuss the following matters:

1. For purposes of the Board receiving legal advice on specific legal questions pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(b). Purpose: Collective Bargaining by County Employees Act, CRS 8-3-101.
2. Determining positions relative to matters that may be subject to negotiations; developing strategy for negotiations; and instructing negotiators pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(e). Purpose: Negotiations with the Fraternal Order of Police.

10:00 a.m. - Business Agenda Meeting
The Board will consider:

1. Proclamation for Foster Care Month.
2. Proclamation of May 9, 2026 as "Light Over Shadows Day" to reduce stigma, support recovery and uplift the voices of those affected by substance use and mental health challenges.
3. Approval of County Cash Requirements April 10, 2026 through April 17, 2026.
4. Approval of a tasting permit for Mother Cline Enterprises, LLC dba Mother Cline Liquor.
5. Approval of the renewal of an appointment of a secure transportation permit vehicle inspector.
6. Approval of Agreements for Transfer of Entitlements between the FAA and the City of Durango and La Plata County.
7. Approval of appointment to the Southwest La Plata Library District Board.
