Champlain Valley of Vermont Petition

Petition requesting establishment of the "Champlain Valley of Vermont" American viticultural area (AVA) along the eastern shore of Lake Champlain. The petition states that this proposed AVA is "distinct from the [established] Champlain Valley of New York AVA on the lake's west shore and does not overlap its existing boundaries. While the mountains and the lake influence deeply the climate of the entire valley, the proposed Vermont region experiences different weather patterns and counts a number of nationally and internationally recognized vineyards and wineries."
