Alternate Side Parking and Street Sweeping Return April 1

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (March 29, 2026) - Starting on April 1, the city will resume its seasonal street-sweeping and alternate-side parking schedule.

The city encourages all residents to review the posted signage on their specific blocks to confirm the designated days and times for their neighborhood, ensuring cleaning crews have the necessary access to maintain our roadways.

This seasonal program is a vital part of environmental efforts, as it removes litter, dirt, and debris before they can enter local storm drains.

By preventing these pollutants from reaching our rivers, streams, and lakes, we can significantly reduce a major source of water contamination in our region. Following these parking regulations allows our sweepers to reach the curb effectively and clear away the most buildup.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping New Brunswick clean and green.
